Yesterday was the second day on Week 3 of Couch-to-5k. Nothing noteworthy to report, but one fun thing did happen. After I was done with the run and the 5-minute post-run cooldown, I still felt like running some more. So I sprinted down one side of my apartment complex at full speed, and it felt awesome! I made sure to run the right way, making sure to land on the balls of my feet and not the heels, and so I felt absolutely no shin pain. I also whipped my legs back and made a conscious effort to run with my thigh muscles instead of my quadriceps, and I must say that it felt really, really good. Of course, running freely felt amazing in-and-of-itself, but being able to run nearly effortlessly was absolutely the icing on top. Of course I ran out of breath by the end of the sprint and spent the next minute panting, but it was worth it.
