I haven’t written anything in a while, and the reason for that is that I haven’t really done anything in what feels like a really long time. After the whole visa fiasco, I don’t really feel like applying again to any university, I want to make a game but am having trouble getting started, I’m tired of my job but don’t feel like switching because I’ll get started on my game “real soon”, and the whole thing just goes round and round till I feel like I’m thinking in circles (which I am).
This time around it was through no fault of mine. The university was supposed to provide a different CAS Number for the application, but they failed to do so despite my notifying them that I would be reapplying. Not knowing that a CAS number cannot be reused, I submitted the second application with the same CAS number as the first one, and that’s why it was rejected.
That’s it, I’m done.
Given that I’ve been accepted for the Msc Computer Engineering program at the Abertay University (pursuing my life-long dream of making games, yay), I’m forced to undergo the unpleasant procedure of applying for a UK visa. And by unpleasant, I’m not simply referring to the pages and pages of forms that I have to fill. Neither am I referring to the lengthy Policy Guidelines document (it has 88 pages of just text.
So I was in the middle of something on wednesday, when all of a sudden my computer starts acting up. Opening a new tab takes ages, reloading tabs doesn’t seem to work, and at one point my desktop wallpaper turns lighter, the way application windows do when the application stops responding. And in the midst of all this, I can see my hard-disk-activity LED blinking like mad. So I think that maybe there are some bad sectors on my hd, which is causing disk reads to fail.
